We have 3 baby houses: two in Glenvista and one in Hillbrow. Two of the homes have the potential to take up to 12 babies at a time, and our main house in Glenvista is now a registered children’s home allowing us to have 30 children at this one facility.
The Glenvista Baby Home was our first and now acts as the central administrative home. This is where we have our offices, receive donations, house volunteers. This home is our only registered children's home and houses 30 children. There are up to 8 newborns, 12 big babies, and 10 kids in the starfish program. This is our newest program and focuses on kids with special needs but that are still able to go for adoption. With extra work and specialized staff this department saves kids from falling into the cracks and getting stuck in a childrens home for the rest of their life. If you wish to sponsor one of these children please go to our needs page.
The Hillbrow Home is situated directly behind the Berea Baptist Church. It was opened in November 2003 to help us accommodate the increasing amount of abandoned babies and children. Although in a dangerous area, it is secure behind electric fencing and high walls. This is where the "hole in the wall" is situated. This home is a place of safety with two house mothers who live on the premesis.
The Glenvista Toddler Home is approximately 5km from the Glenvista baby home. This is our newest home and focuses on giving our longer term kids a more stable family oriented environment. With more bedrooms and more room to grow this home is as close to a family that we can offer our toddlers in transition. Like the home in Berea two house mothers live here and look after the children like their own, with assistance from a small staff.
